OK.... This does not sound appitizing at all.. lol but there is a story to it. These are no bake cookies that are just the best. I literally make close to 1,000 of these around the holidays and put a dozen or more in cello bags wrapped with ribbon and these also go in the goodie baskets.

These are a favourite with everyone and so simple to make. They freeze wonderfully and can be eaten frozen as they do not freeze solid! Some even think they are better frozen! I double or triple this recipe when I make it. This recipe makes approx. 36 cookies in a single batch.

Now, for the name... lol I don't know what else to call these. Years and years ago, my nephew who is now 32, took a look at them one x-mas and announced they looked like 'reindeer turds'.... the name stuck... lol For the past almost 30 years people just ask me for them by that name.

Dry Ingredients.....

put in a very large bowl
3 cups of oats (quaker oats)
6 tablespoons of cocoa powder
3 & 1/2 ounces of shredded coconut
Stir these together well

Liquid Ingredients......
1/4 lb of butter (not margerine)
2 cups of white sugar
1/2 cup of milk (not skim milk)

- In a large pot, bring the liquid to a boil. Then take off the stove and add 1 teaspoon of vanilla.

- Pour the liquid ingredients INTO the DRY ingredients and mix well until everything is wet.

Use a teaspoon to spoon the cookies onto waxed paper.

- let them cool and they will harden somewhat... that's it! Enjoy!
