1/2 cup of chopped onion
1 teaspoon of margarine
1 sixteen (16) ounce can of sauerkraut
1 & 1/2 teaspoons of caraway seed (optional)
5 knockwursts (1 twelve ounce package)

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.

Brown the onion in margarine in a large frying pan.

Add the sauerkraut with it's liquid and caraway seeds, heat together 3-4 minutes to blend the flavours.

Transfer mixture to a large flat casserole and top with the knockwursts.

Bake 20-25 minutes, turning the knockwursts several times so that they brown as they cook.

Makes 5 servings
One serving = 1 knockwurst plus 1/4 cup of the sauerkraut
One serving = 3 fat, 1 meat/protein & 1 fruit/veggie.
