I love this recipe. The original one was given to me by a friend and I tinkered with it a bit. This recipe makes a sensational holiday gift with just a little imagination. On this page I am printing the recipe. On the next page I will give you instructions on how to make a dozen of these and pretty them up a bit for gifts. You will need to double this recipe to make three (3) 16 oz canning jars full. (500 ml jars)
Ingredients..... don't forget to double this recipe
1 cup of powdered non-dairy creamer
1 cup of powdered chocolate drink mix
2/3 cup of instant coffee granules
1/2 cup of white sugar
1 teaspoon of fresh ground cinnamon
Have your 3 sixteen ounce (500 ml) canning jars ready.
Put the instant coffee into a food processor if you have one, or I have found the blender works terrific, until it becomes a fine powder. This takes virtually seconds with a blender. No more than 30 seconds or so. If you don't have a food processor or a blender, put it in a large plastic bag and crush it with a rolling pin.
In a large bowl, combine the creamer, chocolate mix, instant coffee, sugar, and cinnamon. Stir this all together until it's very well mixed.
Spoon it into the 3 sixteen ounce canning jars.
Attach a note that says "Cappuccino: Mix 3 tablespoons with 8 ounces of hot water.
I have never tried it but may, but you could substitute the powdered chocolate drink mix with a sugar free one. They are made with sugar substitutes so it should suffice. Make it and try it. You will then know if you need to add more sugar substitute once in your cup. - One other detail. If you use the sugar free chocolate mix remember, you will get less Cappuccino as you will be omitting the quantity of white sugar.
